Antenna Element Design Using Characteristic Mode Analysis: Insights and research directions

چکیده

This article provides a comprehensive review of recent applications characteristic mode analysis (CMA) to innovative antenna element designs, including multiport, circularly polarized, wideband, reconfigurable, and dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs). Emphasis is placed on the interpretation modes (CMs) for those unfamiliar with method physical insights gained from eigenvalues eigenvectors an antenna. In addition, we CMA-based design strategies specific examples that highlight application CMA various types antennas. Ultimately, this seeks demonstrate value engineering look toward promising new research directions research.
